CASA CACAO : TIJUANA OASIS
BY ArtCoWo Press ©  12 - 8 - 15

CASA CACAO is an Oasis in the middle of happening Tijuana, Mexico. Amidst the hustle and bustle of TJ, lies an unassuming cafe filled with divine chocolate, gorditas and coffee beens.

This is "Casa Cacao", a relaxing and calming place to escape the Mexican heat. Rosa, the owner is extremely friendly accompanied by her husband and children. This Mexican wonderland is the only shop to grab some favorites like the sublime Mole from Oaxaca and other treats from the surrounding area. Great gifts, or fill your kitchen with these edible and delectable treasures.

I have tried something new every time I walk through the palace doors of this local and tourista-bound favorite. With mainly taco shops that specialize in the same thing, it is nice to find a cafe / eatery all in one. You really don't have to go any where else in TJ, because this establishment has it all. They have a map where all the different people have plotted where they came from showing the diversity that comes to Mexico and this border town. Tijuana is going through a rebirth right now with new developments and an increased economy.

Americans and other countries are flooding into Mexico and some are lucky to find this unique gem. The arts are growing as local artists are banning together. Artists from both America and Mexico are collaborating with one another. The United Artists of San Diego and Mexico have been meeting at this beautiful and quaint restaurant to discuss ways to improve the nonsensical border and are planning a "No Borders Gallery" for a cultural exchange between SD and TJ. This seems to be their favorite spot as they have planned several meetings while sipping on CASA CACAO's famous Mocha latte's. I hope we point others in this direction because they won't be disappointed. Tell them you want a spicy Mexican Mocha, it is out of this world.

MALO CANTINA : LOS FELIZ SILVER LAKE FAVORITE
BY ArtCoWo Press ©  11 - 1 - 15

Malo Cantina is a restaurant worth the stuff of legends. In between the Los Feliz and Siverlake area of Los Angeles, this favorite eatery among Angelinos has been making great Mexican fusion for years, and are only getting better. With it's uber-star siting's and hipster cool, this Mexico-style cuisine is not only a five star restaurant, but also quite the popular hang-out.

Yes, their Burnt Habanero Crema salsa is that good and their little bites dishes will keep you ordering more every five minutes, so be sure to place a big enough order. This is one place ArtCollectorWorld did not have to pay me to write about. Because I had been a patron for years, so when they decided to branch into the FoodReview world as well, I jumped at the chance to bring to light one of my favorite foodie hangs in all of LA. Yes, and after all these years, they still have it.

I have probably been munchin on those tacos for over 10 years and still lovin it. If you are from out of town or live in the area this is one gourmet eatery you will thank me for trying.

CECCONI'S WEST HOLLYWOOD
BY ArtCoWo Press ©  11 - 2 - 15

Cecconi's is one of the most popular eateries in the Beverly Hills / West Hollwood area off of trendy Melrose ave. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bar is open seating but can fill up pretty quickly on the weekends. If you are looking for a table you had better book two weeks in advanced. The menu is traditional Italian with some new additions called Cicchetti's, an Italian-style Tapa that is out of this world.

Cecconi's, with its cool Hollywood flair and great food makes this uber-hip neighborhood that much more appealing as I am always looking for Great Italian done the way Mama does it with style. Plus with it's chic styling and Star-Siting's galore, this spot is a must go-to eatery morning, day or night. Great for large parties as well because of the big outdoor seating, just call ahead to make sure they can fit you.

With favorites like the Black Truffle Burger and the Crab and Corn Ravioli you pretty much cannot go wrong with anything you try. You may catch me there eating as much as I can or having a glass of wine with my wife as Art Collector World didn't have to twist my arm for me to review them, I have a great job!
