| JACKSON POLLOCK RETURNS TO HOLLYWOOD BY ArtCoWo Press © 2 - 9 - 17 Jackson Pollock returns to Hollywood in this year's blockbuster, The Accountant , starring Ben Affleck. Affleck plays a math genius/Aspergers accountant and military karate kid. His character "un-cooks the books" for some of the biggest crime bosses around the world. The movie is filled with twists and turns and well, lo and behold the Pollock work, "Free Form", appears to make several cameos. A nice copy and one of the easiest Pollock's to pull off. Technically speaking it is one of the least complex Pollock works. Despite the Pollock pieces' simplicity, it is nice to see it appear in a movie. Any art related movies, though this movie isn't about art per-say, it is nevertheless nice to see Pollock mentioned and one of his works accompany. Without giving any spoilers, this is the first time we see Pollock works in a Hollywood big budget show since the mega hit by Ed Harris, "Pollock." The movie, The Accountant keeps you on your toes and any way Hollywood can integrate arts into a silver-screen gem I am game for. The 2000 Ed Harris' Pollock serves as both a tribute, dramatization and educational tool for the late artist who changed art as we know it. BY ARTCOWO PRESS 2017 © |
