LAS VEGAS ART DISTRICT
BY ArtCoWo Press ©  10 - 20 - 15

Yes Las Vegas has an Art District and yes Vegas has more to offer than the gaudy strip. With "Art Square", "Art Factory", and "Reclaimed", "Janas Red Room", "Brett Wesley Gallery", and a host of art studios, Las Vegas has a burgeoning art scene and art district not to far from the glitz and glamour of the corporatized strip. Emerging artists galore, and there are plenty of them with some extreme talent to boot.

I would like to see some of the big bucks from the strip trickle into this little hidden gem, to build it up some more, without ruining its charm. The hand painted murals on walls and painted electric supplies are some of the nice touches that add to this growing district. Regular scheduled exhibits from week to week has helped this little art haven blossom and also some helpful hands that believe that art helps heal a community. They believe in art and it shows. Janas Red Room boasts over a 100 local artists participate in their gallery. Brett Wesley covers the fine contemporary art scene of Las Vegas that is catching on out of Nevada.

"Reclaimed" is all about community and saving the environment by upcycling and recycling objects to use as new art pieces. I caught Dayve Legend's wonderful exhibit this past weekend, Saturday Oct 17th at "Reclaimed". His art speaks to that of a child-like primitivism with a striking flare for color. Some of his reclaimed pieces really stood out to me as some of his best work. He has a real talent and focus and the work is ripe for collectors.

Nanhyo Park is also another talented artist to emerge from the Las Vegas Art scene. A modern contemporary artist, she incorporates crushed newspaper into her work and preserves them under plexi-glass boxes. She also has a unique criss-cross style of geometry that wraps some of her figural pieces. The work is truly exquisite. Art Collectro World will continue to update the world on this amazing transformation of the "Oher Vegas", the one only a few lucky people know about. But not anymore, the cat is out of the bag and I hope some people, the next time they book a trip to Wynn to gamble, go spend that money on some art instead of losing it all on the house.
