ART COLLECTOR WORLD : LLYNN FOULKES

Llynn Foulkes has had an interesting and diverse career in the arts. Playing music and creating various works of paintings in numerous styles, he is a powerhouse in the fine arts world. He began his gallery career in the late 50's and has not lost momentum ever since.

Many of Llynns' works are included in collections in museums around the world. His most recent documentary "One Man Band" is "a seven year exploration of the maverick artist Llynn Foulkes as he creates and destroys paintings while trying to stay afloat in the fickle art market. Foulkes' uncompromising career includes getting booted from the infamous Ferus Gallery. Ferus made every attempt to delete him from history and the cool school. However there is no denying his art prowess. As well as his involvement in "An intimate portrait of what it means to be a career artist — with Dennis Hopper, Johnny Carson and contemporary art veterans." He abandoned success as a Pop artist, only to be rediscovered by the international art world at age 77.

However alive and still kicking, Foulkes is an artist to be reckoned with. His work is bold and still has that new feeling, like we haven't seen this type of work before. It is of the finest quality paintings in pop art I have ever had the pleasure of seeing up close and personal. The slight contrasts of realism and pop art makes his compositions on another plateau.
