ART COLLECTOR WORLD : Maneli Jodat

HARD TO BELIEVE by MANELI JODAT ©

Maneli Jodat is an artist that has shown her work all over the world. She has been in countless group exhibitions and several solos show. Jodat believes her paintings are "artifacts of personal and quotidian life experiences and observations." Her work contains hidden imagery, symbolic marks, and a complex language surrounded by space and color. Through this space and a thoughtful process-driven painting style, Jodat applies a slow motion reaction to life experiences which is evident in her work.

She attaches meaning to both the "illegible texts" as well as what she makes us contemplate when viewing her work. She puts an enormous weight on our life's experiences that contain more than words...sounds and feelings that impact us indelibly. These moments drive her work to new extremes. Knowing that the symbols have deeper meanings bring prescient awareness to her paintings.

I see the work as life codes that are hidden from our grasp that we try to understand, as similar to a dream that keep us wanting more, but the true detail is foggy and silent. Just murmurs rather than full complete phonetic reason, yet the work is understandable in terms of color and spatial interplay. Not overloaded and overly busy, just the right amount of balance as similar to the space in Miro's paintings. Jodat's work is a dynamic aesthetic experience filled with everyday symbols and color spectrums that reach deep into our gripping consciousness.
