MASSIVE INSTALLATION ART
BY ArtCoWo Press ©  9 - 17 - 15

Massive installations are taking over urban spaces and galleries where nothing else is placed accept the objects set to alter our perception of reality. From stacked chairs to giant axes it is no wonder people find the work appealing but is it over the top?

Artists sometimes decide to take over the space completely as in Lucien Smiths weird experiment, "mops-all-over-the-floor" exhibit. Fun, but what is the point? Are they just making fun of the art patron or themselves? I love concept art just as much as the next art lover but honestly I felt it was a bit redundant and it lacked imagination.

There is nothing wrong with artists pushing the envelope in any field but when art doesn't challenge the mind and leaves one in complete utter boredom I question the purpose and the reason for someone to waste our precious time. Is it art? .... Yes it is...But is it good art?...I will leave that with you.
