MULTIMEDIA ART: IS IT GETTING OLD?
BY ArtCoWo Press © 9 - 17 - 15
W e explain the fascination with Multimedia art and why you should collect it whether you like it or not. It is like any art, it becomes trendy and people really follow this art form and then the hype disappears. Is all art equal then when we get past technique?
This art is nothing knew and likewise with conceptual art as well but will we see a multitude of pieces and artists that specialize in this art form more and more? Yes, with screens getting thinner and their ability to run on batteries instead of being pugged in the wall, the future of Multimedia art is growing.
Like Clayton Ehman and Michael Itkoff, for these artists it is a run in the park, and they enjoy making it whether we might be getting bored. It is the inventiveness of an artist that makes us continue to beg for more as a society that is seeking instant thrills. Some of these works are boring and look as common as a typical painting these days. But I still enjoy collecting and admiring the different directions an artist seeks out because art is anything, even Damien Hirst and Marcel Duchamp would agree whether you like it or not.
