Barrio Logan, one of the most charming, well known and oldest neighborhoods in San Diego, especially known for its art events, crawls and festivals. It's a great tourist attraction as one of the oldest and historic communities of San Diego. Its Chicano elements are what make this area more authentic and interesting. It is not only the cultural diversity and heritage rich beauty that makes Barrio attractive to tourists and visitors from other parts of town but also their good food, beer and unique art exhibits add to the fun of this uber-hip environment.

CHICANA ART GALLERY

There is a big chain of art galleries and venues in Barrio, but Border X Brewing and Chicana Art Gallery caught our eyes on Oct 24th 2015. Their warmth and coziness is what makes you stay there for hours. You feel like you're at home as their owners treat you that way. Chicana Art Gallery, with its owner Cesar Castaneda, had a solo show for artist El Wero, called "The Art Of Everything ." Wero Solo Show. That night we were in luck when our team stumbled upon its doors and heard great music. They had festive music, beer and tons of people passing through. The artwork is definitely rock n roll/ Punk . Wero enjoys adding elements of anarchy in all his pieces. This show was something in between Dia De Los Muertos and a hard rock show. There was a lot of pieces on the walls, but each one of them was interesting and original, with dark and funny ideas behind them. Wero is definitely a young and promising artist.

ARTIST "WERO"

After having a hard time leaving Chicana Art Gallery, we enjoyed our next moments in Border X Brewery. Their owner, David Favela, puts heart and soul in the place. You can feel the energy as soon as you go through the door. It was also extremely alive and most people were waiting for tables. One part of the brewery is turned into an art gallery. David's taste for art is outstanding. He works with great curators or curates himself, but he doesn't disappoint. He supports modern emerging artists like GMonik, EZRock and Eddie Lizarraga. His Brewery is known for good grubbin and booze. He is definitely attracting people from other parts of town just to feel a little bit of that Barrio Logan energy in David's sophisticated way.
