HIRST - VEIL PAINTINGS GAGOSIAN LA
Grounding breaking artist and legendary art dealer team up for their next exhibit in Los Angeles. Damien Hirst, the man that brought you frozen sharks has returned to painting after a long hiatus.
This next series entitled the "Veil Paintings" conjure up Seurat and a nod to pointillism and it's roots. The goal of pointillism was to make color that much more vivid to the eye by using points of color. These dots take center stage but in a more concealed manner curated at Gagosian in Los Angeles.
There just may or may not be an image in there. Let your mind wander. Or lets just call it an abstract piece.
I liked the new work. I prefer it over Hirst's large dot series. The exhibition series ran from March 1st to April 14th, 2018. I really support Hirst's goal of returning to the studio even if just for a moment of stint-work. Of course, Lary knows how to put on a show...very nice job, both of you!
